What I'm going to do in the future and why I chose this path
So, if you don't know (Which you probably don't), this is the first time I'm actually going to intentionally write blogs as a milestone of what I've accomplished. Another thing is, I'm practically new at logging and analyzing data from graphs, such as plant height, leaf length, etc. The only thing I got close to this is in science class. And as you know, science classes teach you the bare necessity of the topic and let you decide what you want to pursue. As a kid, I was always fascinated by life itself. I was in awe, by the simple fact that the "dead" universe or you could call by a "stagnant" state of matter, like your keyboard or your phone, certain elements just thought with their nonexistent brain, "y'know what, we'll just do something together" and called their element buddies to make something together. It's extremely strange that dead things could somehow communicate with other dead things to create something that's "alive". Life is stated, according to this site by britannica.com: "
I had wanted to devote my life to... study life! But what really caught my attention was the giant beings that create incredibly large structures from just their immediate environment. Trees. Plants. They're just humans but their absolute opposite. Plants create their own food instead of finding it. They take in carbon dioxide in order to stay alive.
And what's weird, to my 4th grader mind, is they look... dead. They don't move, they don't have feelings, they don't talk, they don't have a face, they don't breathe. They stand still. But thousands upon millions of ecosystems rely on these unmovable beings for life. This sweet food they produce gives life to animals, plants, and bugs alike. Without them, herbivores wouldn't survive, and without herbivores, carnivores wouldn't survive, and so without plants, nothing would survive.
So we can study a plant's biology. And this branch has a name to it: Botany, the scientific study of plants. But there are many different applied topics from botany. And after using my time from quarantine, many weeks later, I had finally decided on what I wanted to learn and slowly but surely become; an Astrobotanist, to study plants in space.
But I can't become an astrobotanist just waiting until I grow old enough to learn the different disciplines to reach the stage of an astrobotanists. I wanted to start.
What you can expect:
I'll be posting to this blog separate times depending on many variables. I'm not going to set a specific time where I'm going to post, because then things will get rushed, and that's not the point of this blog. And many factors will come into play in what I will type. At first, I'll be writing what milestones I've accomplished, what I've learned, and hey, I could possibly make an explanation of what I learned. But that's far away, and I just want to focus only on learning currently. If I don't post often, it probably means that I'm just taking a break, but I'll post an update if I'm just not publishing anything and just studying.
Thanks a lot for reading! You'll expect a lot of new things in the future! Check back on this blog every so often!
